dahlias and hydrangeas...

here are pictures of the bouquet... for the first time making a bridal bouquet, i must say i was quite happy with it. the bouquet was made with different varieties of dahlias home-grown by strebin farms in troutdale. hydrangeas surrounded the outside of the bouquet, which the bride had requsted to be incorporated in the bouquet. i wrapped the stems with white ribbon and fastened the ribbon with boutinere pins. i found an antique brooch at goodwill and pinned it to the center of the bouquet. as a final touch i decided to piece in black ostrich feathers to give the bouquet a sense of chic ness that complimented the bride's personal style fabulously.

after making the bouquet, i had so many beautiful flowers left over.

so, i decided to make floral wreaths as part of the wedding decor. i went to the dollar tree and purchased twelve styrofoam wreaths. i used toothpicks to fasten the flowers to the styrofoam wreaths. i had plenty of white ribbon left over from the bouquet, and these served as bows in which to hang the wreaths.

on the day of the wedding it decided to rain, so as an alternative there were several tents that served as coverage during the ceremony. there were two main tents and each of these tents had two peaks. in each peak hung three floral wreaths. two were composed of all dahlias and one was full of hydrangeas.
